Well the original sale fell through so brother in law bought it , just been up today to Dundee to pick it up . Went away at 6.30 this morning and rode up on his part ex bike in temps between 1.5 C up to a balmy 4.0 C (bloody thing has no heated grips ).
Picked up the r1200r and despite it being on brand new Pirellis the heated grips worked very well (unlike every GS I have owned) ther1200r (1).webp handling was spot on and very confidence inspiring .
Used to love it when Dalkeith had them as loan bikes but have never done 180 miles on one in a single hit and it was extremely comfortable and I cannot understand why they are not more popular

Looks very original and unmessed with. Brilliant bike, although I am biased. :)

The bike that many GS, & especially GSA, riders should have bought in the first place....... :rob

Could be the lack of screen and the wind blast that puts people off
Very easily solved. Same changes most GSA and GS riders make. Screen, handguards, foot peg lowers, risers, gear extender, brake pedal enlarger. Sorted for less than a single BMW pannier
