Wanted to know if anyone knows the previous owner of this GS?

Looking to buy it and seems to have had a lot done so keen to see if anyone on here knows the history? Think the last owner would have had it from pretty much new.

Cheers
Mark

With the reg number starting OV, it was most likely supplied new from North Oxford BMW, which might give you a starting point....... They may be able to give you some info subject to GDPR of course.....

Roy.

Like you said. As a starting point, they might be able to give him any past servicing information, but no names or addresses will be given out. The fines I imagine for such info, are simply not worth it.

Surely if a bike looks sound, then what is the bother with trying to trace its past owner?

On the MOT checker it says it was registered on April 1st. Someone's taking the piss😁

Not done much more than 3,000 miles in the last 3 years . . If it looks tidy it should be ok.

Aye had a look on the mot checker and ran a car vertical and all looks good.

Seller sent me an invoice over £3k spent few years back at only 29k miles for new clutch and few other things which just got me wondering why it was needed at an early mileage. Also it mentioned fuel strip which I thought they only had on very early twin cams and not in 2011.

Was just being curious, always nice if possible to speak with previous owners, I like to be as thorough as possible.

Cheers

Well, I’ve done a thing and now I own said bike.

Loads of history and needs some fettling over the winter but happy to have my 4th twin cam.

Can’t wait for all the jibes out of the woodwork about it being a banger 😂😂😂

Now need to bling it up, crash bars, header covers, AF330, givi 56l top box and of course Sargent seats.

Get in touch if your selling any of these please 👍

GS clutches can slip in the higher gears from fairly low mileages. I replaced mine at 18k then again as a precaution at 45k when I replaced my gearbox input shaft.
I think the fuel strip was still around in 2011.

Few taken on way up the road, not sure about the wheel colour choice it’s Audi grey powder coated. I prefer silver.

Well took advantage of this good weather on the west coast yesterday and took the bike out a blast. It’s lovely to be back in the saddle of a GS.

Well impressed, Lukasz has redone the suspension and it feels lovely. It’s setup for the previous rider being 80kg and my lardy 105kg still feels fine on it.

New clutch so gear changes are lovely. The gearbox just feels so smooth in comparison to my previous 3 GS’s.

So some fettling over the winter and looking forward to some European adventures next year.

Looks like you got a ‘mechanically sound-cosmetically challenged’ bike, much as I did with a R1150Gs recently. That’s the way I’d prefer it all day long. Mechanicals demand immediate attention, the cosmetics you can do at your leisure and to your own taste. I just did a service on mine and then took it to Austria, but over the winter it’s getting a complete colour change and an alloy wheel conversion.

Be interested to see how you get along with yours 👍

Definitely, it’s the way to go.

My wheels have been powder coated in Audi nardo grey, I didn’t like it in the pics but in the flesh it’s growing on me. Think I might do the cylinder heads and engine in the same over winter.

Been fettling away at mine over the months, only a few things remain. Some before and after will get a few more this week of it finished. Gave it a full service and new brakes.. Got the Remus on and new cylinder covers and few other pieces over weekend. Soon to get it out a blast..
