Took the bike ('05 1200) for its MOT today. It passed ... which is nice.
On the way home, I stop and park up on a steep hill, facing down. I'm away from the bike for two or three minutes at the most. When I try to start it, the bike make one click and the display dies. Nothing happens. I switched the ignition off and tried again. Same again excepts the display doesn't always come up.
Since the hill was steep and long, I managed to bump start on the way down. The bike was fine on the way home with servo brakes and all electrics behaving properly. But as soon as I got home and switched off and back on again, I got the single click and a dead display / bike.
Before anyone says "it's the battery", it is a new one that was replaced about 3 weeks / 800 miles ago!
Any ideas ...
I've got the bike out of the bike and charging up on the Optimate. I don't, however, have a volt meter.
I'm afraid to say that this is the latest in an ever growing line of ever more frequent problems that I am experiencing with the bike. I've owned it since new - 5 years almost exactly - and have done 48k on it. It was fine for most of last year until the gearbox 'disappeared' in October. I've only just got it back on the road about 5 weeks ago!
Thanks
Kai
