Anyone know where to get a stainless bolt kit for an 1150GS at a reasonable price?

I've got a set that I never got round to fitting. Maybe I should. On the other hand... highest bidders please :D

Holy grail?

how come this is still dragging on, thinkd you'd find the Holy whatsit quicker!, what's wrong with Steppers products?.

Keep ya fekkin sneck out.

FYI though, Steptoe might/may/must not be doing them or is that snowed under . PM'd him once but don't like to bother him again.

Forgot about the subject until the recent poster has just brought the subject up and jolted my memory.

So, as I say, keep ya fekkin sneck out.

;)

:eek ....why? Stubbs has just shown you/me the way hasn't he? or am I missing summink here ( if I am, apologies)

Is that a full bolt kit for the 1150GS?

They state: "This kit will replace some of the more vulnerable bolts". That suggests to me that it's a big bag of different sized stainless hex bolts and not a proper kit that covers everything.

Here's a question.

Steptoe still has the 1200GS stainless kits advertised on his website, whether he has them in stock or not. I'm sure quite a few bolts are interchangeable.

Are the 1200GS brake disc bolts the same as the 1150GS does anyone know? Mine look pretty rotten at this stage.

I've had a few emails back and forth with the eBay seller in the link above.

The kit seems to use the same stainless steel as Steptoe's (A2) but the above kit does not include disc or caliper bolts which would cost approximately £15 extra. So once they are all included, the price more or less equates to Steptoe's kit.

The above kit contains bolts for:
Timing chain cover
Plastic alternator belt cover
Cam chain casing
Rocker cover guards (assuming the plastic ones)
Inspection cap for cam chain
Rear brake master cylinder
Rear shock preload
Rear foot rest hangers
Air/fuel inlet flanges
Fuel injector flange mounts

Not sure how that compares to Steptoe's kit as I don't have one

Not a patch -my kit weighed almost 2 kilos when posted.

That's not a complete kit - Where's the bolts for underseat bolts, front subframe, clocks/instrument panel, front seat mounts, rear seat mounts, rear locking mechanism , front footrest, front and rear brake line securing bolts etc etc

At the moment i just haven't got time to assemble any kits.

Very few are interchangable - the brake disc bolts are the same up intil 2007 then they changed.
And there are two completely different types of front brake caliper bolts for the 1150 models depending on year.
Now you understand why it takes so long to sort and pack them.

Oh I totally understand - it must take ages to put a pack together. I wonder is there any way you could "outsource" the packing?

The vast majority you can get the sizes from realoem.com
Then just order from whoever you want. There are plenty of suppliers around if you look on line. Can't remember who I used though. I got complete set for less than £40 for a 1200. On that basis Steptoes sets are good value as he is doing all the work putting it all together.
