Anyone recommend a rear mudguard extender?

As above really, anyone have an effective rear guard fitted?

Do you mean a Mudsling that sits at the front of the back wheel or the one that fits behind the number plate?

I had a Wunderlich one on my GS. Wouldn't fit the GSA with the scaffolding on. So, sold it on here a few weeks back. It was good, it stopped the water from spraying up the back. And, I had a mudsling that stopped shit getting on the rear shock etc. I never didn't have it if you know what I mean, so don't know how much better it was.

Hi, yes the bike i'm buying has a fender extender on already but i was wondering if there is a product you can buy for the rear guard as well. I'll have alook at that Wunderlich one now, thanks.

If you're not in a rush, and pay postage, I am sure I have a Cymarc one somewhere - just need to find it and post it!

Very kind of you, i'm more than happy to buy if these are recommended to divert the water.

If Martylaa doesn't take this, could I take it please? Quite happy to pay. I'm in no rush.

Hi if it fits the 1250 GS i'll take it if you find it, i'm in no rush though so just drop me a message if you find it anytime, cheers.

Is it just me or is bmw just letting customers down with lazy or poor design? There's no excuse on such an expensive motorcycle to buy one then have to spend goodness know how much more adding what ought to be there in the first place! Don't get me started on backlit switches (yes, I'm a fan)...I fitted the Mudsling to my GSA and my RS. Does the job protecting the shock but precious little stopping the pillion or back of the rider getting showered in mud and water. I had a rear hugger fitted too and the bike came with a Wunderlich rear hugger sitting out over the back of the wheel. Seemed to do a reasonable job combined. Puig seem to make the best huggers but they are quite spendy.

Has anyone had their rear hugger removed when they have had their bike dealer serviced? The Puig hugger that was fitted to my bike was removed prior to delivery to me after purchase. It took me a week to notice that it was missing. I raised this with the selling dealer and I was informed that it was removed under instruction from BMW. The hugger has since been sent to me, just wondering if it is worth refitting.

I’ve got a Cymarc one, keeps the plate from going squiffy as well
+1 for the Mark Hooton “Cymarc” deflector. When I got mine, they were CNC laser cut with a “GS LC” logo (still makes me smile when the sun’s shining in the right direction & the letters appear on the back wheel!) 🤣
The photo in the ad shows just a plain one, perhaps Mark will add custom lettering?

Probably the reason why BMW don't fit or sell these fender extension / mudslings is Probably because the gs supposed to be a " off road go anywhere bike" so when you fit such things and go off road the mud / rocks etc will very quickly build up in these areas and possibly cause problems even to the extent of damaging these after market products, but if your a Starbucks rider Probably wouldn't have any problems.
