Interested to see what the LED headlights are like at night. I'll know for myself in a couple of weeks, but some feedback in the meantime would be good:thumb

Oh my god I really do despair. :blast

Why?:nenau BMW has developed an all new headlight, so it would be good to get some feedback.:rob

Go and crawl back into your miserable depression, and stop posting in this section if you have nothing valuable to add:pullface

You've paid your money haven't you? You've made your choice and nothing will move you other than your own experience or whim? So how on earth is somebody elses feedback about a lightbulb going to make an iota of difference to you?
Just grow some balls and have some patience, the world won't end this weekend or the next, your time will come.

Perhaps you could take heed from your own words about this section and what you consider to be value? :D

What a miserable post. New headlights aren't as important as starvation in Africa, granted, but this is a forum for discussing all aspects of the GS series. Therefore it seems like a perfectly valid inquiry.

Live and let live. Or STFU. ;)

I find your posts a little strange. So, according to you, anyone that has bought this bike should not read any reviews, as they will find out for themselves soon enough:nenau Get over yourself.:rob

Any way looks like the idiots with nothing better to say are moving up from the 1200 section to the WC one instead.....
At least we may get some valid posts in there from now on:clap:clap

Its an exciting time getting a new machine, Enjoy it Nutty he's only jellous:thumb2

No, you miss the point. Of course it's about sharing data, experiences, knowledge, the whole learning curve if you like and yes the excitement of a new bike, but come on , the bike has barely spun a wheel out of the shop and you really need to know so soon what night time riding is like?

I'm all for live and let live but you seem to be struggling with the 'live' bit and instead desperately seek reassurance that night becomes day whatever the hour.
Don't forget that when the headlight proves it's worth to you you can then limit it's effectiveness by investing in a perspex or alloy/steel h/lamp guard. :thumb2

Not all is lost though, my depression will cease as soon as I can dump off my ancient 11 months old 1200 for pastures new!

No, he isn't , he still enjoys his 1200! If I want a new toy I will trade mine in. :blast

I'm not asking out of reassurance Jay, I'm interested to hear what people think of the new technology. As per my original post, I will find out for myself in a couple of weeks, but people's views would be good to hear (sometimes:rolleyes:). If people come on here and say its a load of crap, then fine, but some constructive views may be good for others thinking the same thing.

You need to lighten up:pullface:D

Now, I like the headlights on the old 1200.... I may like the headlights on the new 1200.........only one way to find out"...............FIGHT....

i will chuck my 2p worth in if you like, nutty your getting a new bike which your excited about which is fair play to me but i think jc was alluding to the somewhat purile slant of your post,so you have ordered a led headlamp and if someone says its good bad or indifferent will it make any diff to you?.will you cancel your order or cry for a week i doubt it so why post a question which the answer is very subjective and will not actually alter what you will do.btw you dont help by posting on the bikes for sale nice bike glws with regularity.

FFS it gets personal quickly around here. I thought the point of a forum is a bloke to ask a question and all benefit from the answer. I am quite sure BMW will sell more LCs so in the interest of those who haven't ordered one yet and being the first bike ever to use the technology I would have thought more than a few people would be interested in the answer...I am.

Wow there's some miserable people on here. The guy's just asking what the new headlight bulbs are like compared to the old ones, I can't for the life of me think what the issue is about this.

Of course he wouldn't cancel his order, he's just interested to know. I can't ride a bike presently, but I'd be interested to know the answer to the question, just as I'd like to know everyone's opinion on the new bike in terms of rideability, build quality etc etc. Yes you have to decide for your self, but sometimes it's just interesting to know :nenau

It's an allowable tradition...

If you're not getting the latest GS you're allowed to come into that section and make snide comments/observation and generally poke fun which during the early days of a new bike being announced/released is a very easy thing to do.

My recommendation is a pinch of salt with everything....

Nutty...I have the new Led headlight and have ridden my gs at night. The light is much brighter than on my old gs adv 2010. It really is a better bike all round. Keep counting them hours down until you get yours, it REALLY IS WORTH IT :D:D:D.

Hey Nutty - give it a couple more hours and I'll let you know. :thumb2

I'll tell the wife I'm nipping out to do a favour for someone - as if you need an excuse she'll say!

I think Nutty's question is relevant not only because he wants to no himself but for others like myself reading info such as this confirms its + / - and tbh i was not really wanting to buy such bike after my tc but after reading all the raving reviews from peeps on this site and the more i look at the Lc, I'm now wanting to buy one and will be making some calls.
