Guys need a little please.
I've been given a Hid single with ballast etc. it's never been used and is H1 6000k with a 35w ballast.
Now, i've read the instructions and am ok with the bit of wiring/connections. but the question is, how do i get at the lights?
Do i take the headlights out all together? if so how is this done.
Or is there an easier way to do this?
I know i have to cut a 25mm hole in the back of the headlight's plastic back cover, but dont know what to strip away to get at it.
Can anyone help please, would be most grateful, as i have to ride the bike over January and the lights are crap! im on unlit roads and its a bit
Thanks
Ron. :thumb2

I assume its a 1150gs, you remove the screen undo the screws at the front on the light cover surround, and the silver cover over the clock, then it all becomes clear, you pull down on the headlight up and down aim adjuster(not forward like I did, and its £26 to replace :blast, when the ball breaks off)to disengage the ball socket. only takes 10 mins to remove :thumb

didnt take mine out?(unless ur puttin ballast in there?)jus took holders outa the back,my ballasts are were the abs should be ,under tank(its non abs)

Sorry should have said its a 1150gs with ABS.
Not worried about ballast i'll sort that when i get to it.
I take it its easy enough to get the back of the lights off then without stripping the light units out. I need to cut a 25mm hole for the grommet in the back of the covers. How do these come off are they just a press on pull off thing or screwed?
Thanks
Ron

It should be just a twist to the left (think it's left) and it should come off. They're not on a thread.
When you take them off to drill the holes you'll probably find you have to remove the 2 pin terminals. Make sure you mark the cap so you know which pin (yellow and Blue??) goes on which side or else you could get the polarity wrong when you put them back in.
