Anyone seen the new R nineT at their BMW dealers?
I've ordered one, haven't seen one, can't wait. Any impressions?

Yep, I saw one on Saturday. It's small, but very nice.:thumb

I suppose it would look small next to all those Adventure bikes!
I'm 6'1", will I fit?

Saw it at the weekend too - and heard it - sounded lovely and looks very nice! ENJOY!!

I'm 6' and it felt very small to me. Lovely bike but they should have made it a little taller. I'm sure they'll be aftermarket kits available to address this though. Got a test ride booked for the day after launch and looking forward to trying it out a lot:)

I was quite keen till I saw the photo.

The leg position looks very short - or they both very tall?

It looks normal size, when you put a small Japanese fella on it.....

Why do manufacturers insist on making tiny bloody bikes which only fit those of stunted growth ?

I suppose BMW did some research-you only have to look in the For Sale section on here to see the number of GSs being sold with low seats and even suspension that has been lowered and therefore fucked up for the next owner.

Why can't manufacturers make bikes in Normal and XL sizes ?

The NineT does look nice until you see someone sitting on it and then it looks plain daft !!!

Buy a R1200R and spend the thousands saved on something else !!

...said the man on the BMW GS Forum!!!! :D

And said GSs seem to shrink with each new bike, no doubt due feedback from RTW tossers who drop their shiny new toilet fully laden on the way home from Tesco and scuff their nice new Twat Suit in the process !!

twigs and bushes are the new Danger for those pannier Laden Adventurers !!:D

saw one on tuesday it was tiny, at 5'10" I was sitting on it both feet flat on the floor and knees bent,

I took a test ride on an R nine T last week. Impressions:

1. It's a work of art - you could (or I could at least) put it in your lounge and stare at it. Not much plastic on it, and it appears to be made of top-notch components throughout.
2. For me, it's tiny (normal ride: XChallenge). That said I didn't find it uncomfortable (I've not had a road-only bike since about 1991), but apparently I looked too big for it (my height: 5' 11"). Maybe an optional tall seat would fix this.
3. It goes. Very well. I also expected a clunky gear change but it was very smooth.
4. Handling was pretty good - I was too scared to push things given it was raining and the bike wasn't mine.
5. It sounded amazing, even with the stock pipes. Not irritating, but how you'd expect a motorcycle to sound.
6. Only gripe - the rear mudguard didn't give too much protection so there was quite a lot of dirt thrown up onto the back of my jacket. That said the rain was coming down and we did take some country roads.

Would I buy one? If I could solve the height problem and had the money to spare, for sure. Even if it would be my only road bike.

Thanks to Cotswold BMW for lending me the bike and for the excellent customer service.

I did wonder if BMW would unveil a 650 equivalent. If not, then in the spirit of the new wave custom scene, I might just make my own....

I've yet to see one in the flesh, but looking at the one in your photo, it looks like the designers ran out of ideas with the seat area, it doesn't gel with the tank and looks unfinished!

In the flesh it looked exceptionally well finished. Another perspective:
