I love my new (to me) bike, but after a couple of rides on it, I would be happier to hear the engine a bit more, so has anyone got an exhaust for a g650 that they are thinking of selling?, if so please let me know,

regards
Mike

Cheers modman, I have been sorted out by Ash with Remus one :)

Good, As a young 40 year old, I could be considered as a boy racer :D

I have one. Louder than stock one. But not so loud as to annoy the neighbours or annoy me on a journey.

£222 according to ebay now - is it LOUD or just a bit louder than stock?

It's not loud enough to annoy anyone. I like quiet bikes. This is a bit louder, more "hollow" sounding if that makes sense. It comes with 3 baffles, the quietest one is installed from the factory, so you can replace it with one of the other two which are not road approved if you wanted to. I haven't even considered it.

It may be £222, but remember the £20 postage :)

With Leo Vince you need to add additional support to the exhaust to prevent it from burning a hole in the coolant hose. It doesn't use the OEM mounting towards the bottom of the sub-frame, which causes it to sag somewhat.

There's a battered exhaust turned up on eBay this morning. Can't post link as on phone at the moment.

I had an akro fitted for a recent tour, and I found it too boomy for consecutive long days in the saddle. I like it quiet, and went back to the somewhat heavy stock one.

This is the same reason I took my remus off the bike. Found the noise rather irritating after a while.

ahhh exhaust arrived, thanks ash, I just tried to fit it but the diameter is slightly different, I am assuming some kind of fitting gasket is required to slip inside the end to form a tight fit at the connection clamp? I tried to take the piece out of the standard can but it wont come out in 1 piece, anyone know? also does anyone know where I might get a bracket to hold the end can in place, the carbon fibre one with the remus can has cracked and I don't think it will make it secure, so standard can back on for now, at least the neighbours still like me :)

right sorted, used the old gasket from the stock exhaust, and bought a 350mm oval offset hanging strap but had to attach it to the rear rack bolt because it was a touch longer than the remus strap, but its just to hold it in place, very pleased with the sound of it, not too loud at all, just nice to hear the engine :)

Taffy, keep an eye on the rear part of the connecting pipe where it goes close to the water hose. The clearance there is only a few millimetres and with it attached only on the rear mount, it could move to touch the pipe and burn through it. I got some heat reflective tape to wrap round and insulate the water pipe at that point as its the last thing you need on a ride out or tour.

Glad you sorted it........
And much cheaper than a new un...
