Anyone tried a Madstad on the 1190 Adventure

If it means we'll still be friends I'll do anything you ask :bounce1

Sadly, although I looked and looked and looked I don't have that particular bag to hand, however, I found something very similar and the Lovely Amanda was happy to provide photographic proof.

I hope you approve :bounce1

Andres

Two can play at that game motherfucker :D

This is you with your top box getting ready to take your new cardigan back to C&A because the wooden buttons were too racey.

(You actually look good with the bag....suits you! You should do it more often.)

FUCK OFF Chicken Strips Melch!

Actually, Amanda says she prefers blue eye shadow, it goes with my natural hair colour far better than the mauve I usually use.......................CNUT :dabone

Tell it to someone that gives a toss. If I was even remotely concerned about impressing a load of middle aged adventure types I would do what Giles does and spin the back wheel up and put some sandpaper on it. :upyou

Amended to reflect what really happened (it really did too :D).

Back to topic (almost)

Now ordered the Puig Touring Screen.

Probably a bit taller than I ideally want but most the other stuff (MRA / Givi) is about the same height as standard, the Puig is about 4.5 inches taller, so on the lowest setting still a bit higher than the stock screen on highest.

Just fitted the SA screen using the left & right additional SA brackets (reversed/upside down) and all looks good with full adjustment still possible :).

Had also ordered the SA mask but my dealer says this is stuck somewhere in Belgium at the moment :augie

Will try this set up first and then with the mask when it eventually turns up.

Well - better again with the SA screen fitted as above but still a long way from "perfection" though I could live with it.

So the SA mask turned up today and managed to fit it this afternoon.

Off with all the bodywork again just to take out the headlight shell :blast

Mask fits straight onto the headlight but needed to Dremel the mask in a couple of places along with the standard screen supports so that you get full adjustment. Also used some 25mm nylon spaces between the standard screen supports and the additional SA screen brackets and all fits nicely ;)

Should hopefully manage to test it tomorrow but very pleased with the look of it so far :D

Tried the SA screen with no other mods and find it little better than standard screen.

The Giant Puig has arrived today so will give that a bash tomorrow, if that don't work I will just put up with the wind noise of the standard screen as at least it looks OK and is never in the field of vision.

surprised at that. works pretty well for me and some others. guess that height, build and riding position make a big difference?

having said that, i now mostlystick to the standard R screen with puig spoiler.

not so much protection, but generally enough. much less buffeting (for me). it works well in the full down position too - nice when it's hot.

Puig Touring is on and is massive!

I might try a spoiler on the standard screen if this is not for me - looks like it will be great for hiding behind on long motorway journeys, but it might limit fresh air when you want it.

May end up going for a spoiler on standard screen - either that or really ruin the bike with an ugly Airflow.

The Puig works much better than anything so far.

On the lowest setting it is still a fair bit taller than the OE screen, but is not too annoying for me (about 6'1) with the seat in the high position, I am pretty much looking over the screen. On this low setting it is still noisy whilst not allowing much airflow to my helmet - but it diverts enough blast ride with main visor up and sun visor down without bugs whacking the sun visor.

In the upper position it works quite well, especially with the spoiler up, view is a bit naff as I am half looking through it and half looking over it, but it does remove all wind roar and most of the annoying "buffeting sounds". If I move it down to improve the view the buffeting noises return, although not very load I find this constant drumming sound most irritating.

Another trick is to flip the visor to angle back, this blasts air into face, obviously very noisy with the wind blast, but handy to get fresh air to face.

Going to try it on my upcoming tour and see how it goes, for the other 350 days of the year I will probably look for something else, might try puig spoiler on stock screen.
