Anybody up for a ride around the southern countryside (West / East Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and Kent tomorrow (Sunday 4th Sept)?

I don't mind where, just want to go for a ride on my GSA. :D

Otherwise I'll probably go for a ride to Bury Hill / Whiteways Lodge, Box Hill, Newlands Corner and Portsdown Hill.

I'll check for any replies in the morning and again throughout the day.

Perhaps send me a PM with your mobile number and I'll respond via text asap.

Regards,

Richard.

Can you make monday?

Got to go to Sheffield Sunday (It will be wet anyway) but got an extra day of monday if thats anygood!

Richard,

If not tomorrow then I should be okay for next weekend. What sort of a distnce are we talking. I would prefer a full day. Maybe 400 miles at a push. And if we want some twisteis then may I suggest heading over to Wales or maybe into the midlands unless you know better.

I may be up for a ride in the afternoon, somewhere around box hill, weather permitting.:D:hide

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

A few months ago I worked shifts and had days off during every week so a ride during the week was possible and not a problem but promotion has me working Mon - Fri office hours with every weekend off.

Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow but if I'm riding and get caught out so be it.

Next Saturday I've prior arrangements with a mate and Sunday is likely to be a family day out to Horsham Park.
If the family day doesn't happen due to lack of tickets, I was seriously considering joining the Battle of Britain ride.

Distances are welcome but the Midlands fills me with dread, I had more than enough of the concrete jungle when I went to the Salopian this year - Once at the Salopian the roads were awesome and I loved following BHT around the Welsh countryside.

Riding around Dorset, Devon and Cornwall I want to do. :D

Ok.... I'll probably be at Box Hill sometime between 10am and noon unless I'm late.
Then off to Newlands Corner before heading the long way home. :D

Richard,

Just post when you want a meet up. Office worker myself now but a little bit busy at the moment (Silly season).

I am out a lot on my jap bike for a scream around Hampshire on the A272 and likes but would like to spread my wings farther on the GS with someone who has a similar mount.

Thanks for response.

I miss my week days off but now have every weekend off so that's a bonus.

The A272 east of the A23 is cr@p but west of the A23 to Petworth, Midhurst, Petersfield to Winchester is a great road and very popular with bikers.
The downside is that annual biker fatalities due to silly and reckless overtakes, crossing double white lines etc draw a heavy police presence in marked and unmarked vehicles.

I'm usually free most weekends and I'm happy to meet up somewhere for a ride out and a cuppa.

Richard.

Richard,

Did you get out today?

It rained for me all the way to Sheffield and back again. Good job I was in the car.

Large pools of standing water on my return to Hampshire.

Hi,

Yes - My youngest son (aged 9 years) rode pillion. We left home about 9.30am, it was dry but the clouds looked ominous. :mmmm

We rode past Whiteways Lodge and over Bury Hill and up to Box Hill, had a CBT, fries and drink then then fine misty rain started so we left and rode across to Newlands Corner.
Just after we left Box Hill the fine rain quickly became torrents and huge puddles were forming at the bottom of the hilly sections as rivers cascaded downhill, visibility was poor but we wasn't in a hurry!
When we arrived at Newlands there were about 8 bikers sheltering by the cafe. When the rain eased, they all left apart from one old fella on a 1970's Jap bike.
We left shortly after the other bikers and rode to Loomies via the A25, A3 (through the new Hindhead Tunnel) and A272.
There were only 6 or so bikers at Loomies too, so we had a cuppa and rode home.

Only rode 130 miles but the weather was dire and my son and I like to strech our legs a bit.

Good fun though. :) :)

Damn :blast just seen this. Would've been up for a ride yesterday. I'll have to keep a closer look out on here in future :thumb2
