Anyone updated to 133.30?

Good to see my Hilltop'd 1190 still puts out more power than a Hilltop'd 1290; I thought it was just Nutty that had a duff one :D :D :D [1]

IIRC the my red light comes on at 8.5k and the limiter cuts in at 9k..........it's hard to tell though 'cos when you're fecking about at those sort of revs your concentration is usually elsewhere..........

[1] Yes, I know you boys have a fatter curve where it really counts but it still tickles me that the 1190 has slightly more top end ;)

Anyone done a load of miles with the Hilltop maps, one concern I have with sorting the lean mixture is that it could clog the cat up over time.

I am getting very tempted to Hilltop my 1190 and keep it rather than upgrade to the 1290, most of the things I distrust on it seem to be causing issues, and as previously mentioned I think the 1190 suspension is better on all but smooth roads, so I could give up on Cruise and the extra low down if it means I am not playing Russian Roulette every time I stop anywhere other than my own driveway.

@ChrisA

The bike would most likely be in 4th on the Dyno and not top gear....

....but what is 8,000 in top on the 1290? My guess is that would be around 140.

The easiest way to see when the limiter cuts in, in 6th is just pull the clutch in and rev it out. I’ll try it when next on the bike.:thumb

But look at the torque on our 1290’s compared to your 1190 ;)

These 1290 owners can certainly talk the torque, but can they wake the bike?

What did your 1190 produce at Hilltop? My 1290 ended up with 144.7 bhp and 99 ft lbs after fettling

............only using Hilltops old dyno though ;)

Shhhhhhh, that's supposed to be our little secret :blast

Which is, what I said.............. :P

You're one of the lucky ones. Must be one of the 'special' 1290's, not many of those around........ ;)

Here you go; 138 & 90

Edit: Actually, facetiousness aside, looking at ChrisA's chart there's actually very little difference between the two bikes at 5-6000 rpm (both torque and power) which I'm quite (pleasantly) surprised about.
And then, of course, there's the manic 'power band' at 6k that the 1190's have and you guys are all missing out on.................. :)

Tried that and mine still hits the rev limiter at 10,000 rpm in 6th - same as lower gears so no restriction there from uploading 133.30. Does not of course mean there isn't some kind of restriction based on actual speed though rather than revs. Suspect I may never find out as cannot remember the last time I went above 130mph let alone tried to get to 160mph :rob

PS - my last 1190 managed 135.39bhp at 8,880rpm and 88.29 Ft/Lb @ 7,425rpm but again on Hilltops (optimistic) old dyno.

Old or new Dyno i.e Earl Shilton or Hinckley ;)

My 1290 was done at the new dyno in Hinckley late last year.

I must admit that Andres/Otto's much lauded 1190 utterly trounced my old 1190's figures on the previous dyno at Earl Shilton by a good 8 bhp

With Andres being a bit of a hippy - they probably sprinkled a bit extra magic dust on his compared to ours ;)

Once I’ve fitted my Wings exhaust and had the software update, I’ll pop back and get it back on the dyno. The dyno will be properly bedded in though, so my bike will slay Outto’s :P:D

There is often a map for "clutch in" stored in ECU's, people used to short the clutch switch on Super Teneres as it got around the restrictions in 1st - 3rd - then someone found it also ran massive (dangerous) ignition advance which out some folk off and caused detonation in some instances...

...not that this is particularly relevant, but it might be that there is a restriction in top gear that will not show with the clutch in, if you disconnect the clutch switch and try again it should prove this is not the case...

...but as stated it might just be a speed based restriction.

Andres

Big sigh of relief - my 1290S managed 139.3 BHP this morning and 99 Ft/lb of torque and so is more powerful than Andres 1190 :aidan

Also obviously more powerful than Nutty's being the faster black colour :D
