I met this chap today who was recommended to me from Bagster in Wales:

http://www.peterhamlett.com/leather.html

One of the plastic side clips on my tank cover broke a while back so I decided to send Bagster an email requesting the bits and a recommendation for someone who could repair it. Initially Bagster sent out the wrong bits (straps, clips etc) and had not even charged me for them...They then sent out the correct ones a few days later.

I arrived at Peters place around 0800 this morning and was invited in had a cuppa and was told that if i'd been a few minutes earlier I could have had breakfast with them.....

By the time the kettle had boiled Peter had already completed the repair so we spent the next hour or so talking about his plans to move to France in the near future. When I told him about the error Bagster had made when sending out the bits he asked if I had sent them back. When I told him "no" he said "well send them to me and we'll call it quits.....

Excellent service from a very hospitable chap. I can't recommend him highly enough. He's a leather and textile repair specialist and is the authorised repair agent for Bagster UK. :thumb

+1

Another recommend for Peters services, he just put a new main zipper into my old and well used (almost daily) Bagster tankbag for a very reasonable £20 plus postage after the zip gave up the ghost( a new bag would be over £80). I had tried local Leather shops and none would repair the bag, stating they need special jaw openings on their sewing machines to accept the bags.

Then I called Baglux who referred me to Peter. Id only I had read SADO's earlier posting I could have saved myself some legwork:blast

I hope he can still provide a mail order repair service in the future after he settles in France as he provides top service.
