Aprilia SR GT 400

The much better under seat storage space on the Honda ADV 350 is for me a winner. The extra BHP would be nice though.
Ps the Honda styling for me looks better too..

Saw a YouTube vid from a guy that's just had the first service done at about 700miles and needed a set of tyres due to a big non repairable puncture in the rear. About £190 for the service and nearly £300 for 2 tyres fitted!
Apparently the rear end has to be almost totally dismantled to get the wheel out and it's too small to fit on a lot of garage balancing machines so it remains unbalanced.
Are all modern Adv type scooters like this or is it unique to the Aprilia?

Most scooters are built that way, with a CVT the rear wheel doesn’t run on a spindle, it’s fixed on a spline sticking out of the final drive gearbox, I guess the small center hole probably means it wouldn’t be compatible with a balancing machine

Most of them also have a bolted on swing arm piece on the opposite side to the CVT drive casing with a bearing to support the end of the drive spline

Something to bear in mind if you want something automatic and you plan on doing highish miles

When I changed the tires on my Forza 350 I paid 133 euros for a pair of Michelin CityGrip 2 and and about 20/25 euros to fit the pair

Incidentally, the guy who had a puncture at 700 miles surely didn’t need to change both tires, he simply chose to

Yeah, I get that. But he couldn't get an OE Mitas 70/30 tyre on the rear and changed to a pair of Michelin City Grips. Front wheel removal is easy in comparison so most of the cost is for the rear

Why are so many people hung up on the exhaust of a vehicle? It’s an exhaust system. Do the same people get hung up about the exhaust pipe on their cars? It is all beyond me why people even notice the exhaust pipes.

I had a peak at one of these yesterday in A&D Motorcycles, Denbigh. Very nice looking 'scooterbike' (my word for 'adventure-style crossover maxi scooter'). Build looks excellent and I must say at first glimpse I thought it was a 750. Looking at the reviews it's well up on performance but a bit let down with small under seat storage compared to the Honda 350. However, it's possible to fit an Aprilia top box. It only weighs 185kgs and has a 95mph top end (not that I'll be doing that).
To conclude, it shares the same engine that several other Piaggio bikes and scooters have been using, therefore it's a tried and tested unit.
What's not to like.

Does look nice, especially in the Factory colours. Only thing missing is cruise control
