Aprilia Tuareg 660

Hi
I’ve seen some reports of riders getting hot legs when riding the Tuareg - any experience of this from you owners out there.

It does get warm on the rh side, think it’s the cat. Tbh it’s always been a benefit, as it’s hardly ever too warm in the UK for me, but often too cold. If you’re sensitive to heat, or in a hot location, it might be annoying.

I hear that quite a few bikes do this now, possibly the cat and emissions regs.

I wouldn’t let it put you off though, it’s a really great bike - love it.

Thanks, I’m thinking about hot locations.
Mate had an F800 which was hot but got used to it after a while.

If you’re going somewhere very hot, it might add to the heat, although not so much I’d worry about it.

Some people on other forums and groups have swapped out the headers for ones without a cat, which they say helped.

Go get a test ride if you can, you’ll see how hot it gets. It sort of comes in bursts, it’s not constant - or that’s how I’ve found it to be. You notice it, then you don’t for a while…

The cat does get a bit hotter as everyone has said and if I was living somewhere where it is in the 30's a lot of the time I would probably decat it or put some exhaust wrap around it. But I don't so not an issue for me.
I have added today a cool cover , I really like the seat on the Tuareg its a great shape and is very comfortable . however everyone who has used one recommends them and ive not brought it anything lately so thought I would. actually I brought some heated grips too so they'll be going on soon.

Its going to be overtaking my dct Africa twin soon as the longest ive owned a bike at a not so impressive 30 months :D :comfort I do change bikes an awful lot but after 42 years of it and over 200 bikes im a bit sick of all the agro and hassle of adverts ,buyers. messes ,cleaning ,insurance, and keeping on top of flat batteries mots etc. times change life changes and we get other priorities in life. so ive settled on what I consider to be the best all round "adventure " bike there is for what I want . its a brilliant bike I love it and there's no other bike id rather have. im keeping my 990 Adv for sentimental reasons and a small one for the camper and that's it.

I feel better now ive got that off my chest :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::comfort

Well, having had the Tuareg for a year and loved every minute of it, I’ve been lured by another Italian temptress in the shape of a Stelvio Duocento tributo, so if anyone needs any bits, over the next couple of days I’ll have these up for sale

Perun Moto rear rack with Kriega bobbins for OS Base

Genuine cool cover seat cover still sealed in bag

Standard height Aprilia comfort seat

Kriega OS Base and 2 x OS12’s (used)

New and sealed Hex EZ-Can for Tuareg 660

And a ton of other stuff, so keep an eye out if interested 😃

Had a great year with the Tuareg but have really fallen for the Stelvio Duocento.
