Arai Quantum ST Pro

It's new helmet time, and I was very tempted to get the Arai Rebel, but to say it's snug inside would be an understatement.

So, as I have an Arai shaped head, the Quantum STP is looking like the best option. I'll go and try one on this week, but before I do, who here has one and is it any good? Any issues with it?

PS Always buy a helmet that suits you, not someone else. All you'll get is bods saying that theirs is noisy. Then you'll learn that they ride along with the visor up at 90 (feelin' alive) and think that earplugs are for girls and wimps watching noisy fireworks. Then you'll get bikermate from Hull, who somehow managed to break his or couldn't manage it on the move. That he also struggles with the seven times table and telling the time is kept a secret.

I have an Arai Quantum ST with Pinlock, Large, New and Black Frost colour for sale if you are interested. Bought it, never unboxed it and sold my bike 3 weeks later. Great lid for sure

Ha ha! I'm normally a small in Arai lids, but the Rebel is tiny! We even had to take the nose guard off the medium to get it on properly. I tried a small RX7 and Chaser, and they were a much better fit. I didn't have to dismantle them to make them fit me!

My local Infinity have ordered me a Streak Black Quantum STP to try on (with no obligation to buy), so I'll pop down tomorrow to see how it fits.

Anyone else with one have anything to input?

WTF makes something pro? Like gearshift, is there a difference between gearshift and gearshift pro? Is there even a gearshift?

What is the difference between a Quantum ST and a Quantum ST pro? Is there a Quantum which has hessian sack lining and a shell made from cardboard?

Apparently, they call it the pro, as it has the pro shade.

Quite why the shade is called pro is beyond me, but as you say, the marketing people need shooting.

I couldn't give a toss what it's called, but as long as it fits well, doesn't fog up, isn't too noisy, and looks half decent, I'm happy.

I'm not too sure about the external pro shade, any thoughts there? I know they don't do the internal one for safety reasons but I'd rather use sunglasses so at least I can open the visor up especially in the summer.

I wasn't that convinced about the pro shade, but all I've read is positivity. I also use a TX4, and the good thing with the Quantum is that with the visor in the raised position, it acts like a peak. The only thing some people have said is it could be a bit bigger, but we'll see.
