Tried the Arai Quantum Helmet today.....

using Arai's ride before you buy, and didn't like it one bit. I've heard a lot of people talk about how good quality Arai Helmets are but compared to my Shoei XR1100 it felt cheap and a bit flimsy. Also I found it uncomfortable and noisy compared to my Shoei. Needless to say I didn't buy it. All I can say is that god Arai offer this service or I would have wasted £400

I have had Shoei and Arai and find the latter a much better fit and the cheaper Arai ie:- Chaser without too many vents is no noisier than my Shoei.
It seems that it depends what shape head you have defines which is the best lid for you.

I’ve tried 3 different Shoe, three Arai and two BMW models over the years, and although they are all highly rated, quality helmets, I’m sure there’s a case that as much as size is an issue, certain head shapes suit certain helmets. Of the three I now have an Arai Chaser and although it isn’t the most expensive I find it by far the most comfortable and secure feeling I’ve had, (and its nowt to do with the fact that it was a pressie from the Mrs)

Maybe my head doesn't suit Arais then, or maybe the Chaser is a quieter helmet. Unfortunately the Chaser isn't available on the ride before you buy scheme.
