ARAI TOUR X -3 = RUBBISH!!

I used a Tour X for 3 years and last autumn went back to a new Hornet,having had one in 2003.

For me,the Hornet is infinitely better.

It feels lighter,is quieter and much more comfortable when used on a 2000 mile 7 day trip .

Thinking of going the Shoei route, one reason being the faff with the Tour x vents on the top.

I cant lower the screen or my zumo will foul the clocks...

Have you tried ? My screen is on lowest position and I only lose the top edge of the rev counter. But then, that's with a MigSel mount and a short ramarm.

Keep trying

There are literally hundreds of helmets on the market and no clear distinction between those intended for sports bikes, trailies, scooters etc;etc;
I want to buy a new helmet but having just disposed of about six that i have found unsatisfactory during the last 10 years (say) I am reluctant to go out and buy for instance a Schuberth C3 or something highly recommended - and then find out it whistles or mists up or is uncomfortable etc;etc;
(Noone wore helmets when i started, except in the Army - and those were intended to protect you against bullets or shrapnel. They were noy very aerodynamic!)

I have read all the posts and pics.. thanks to all
I think the course of action is this..

1. Try to get screen down/adjust zumo

2. take peak off and try although I dont like the look of the helmet with it off, but maybe can live with it.

3. sell tour x3 and swap for a rx7 corsair which i know is fine with my bike.

anyone have one they wish to swap for this?

Size is XL
HAvent thought about price but paid £350 after hard bargaining.
It is pearlescent white.

I had the same problem - I tried tilting the screen back and the GPS got in the way so I lowered the GPS to cover the speedo and use the speedo as a GPS - screen is now tilted right back - much much better - this is on a GSA by the way and I use the GPS as the speedo.

helmets.

"The RX7 Corsair is the finest full face helmet in its class" -according to Busters - BUT it is £500

I have moved the zumo to the right , off centre, over the speedo. so i can see the rev counter. This has allowed me to lower the screen 50% .
Roll on weekend when i can see if it makes a difference

Used a Tour X last week on my GSA last week and found it suprising good, despite all the crap that you read and hear

Never had an Arai before
