Arctic To Atlantic... A Trans USA Ride...

Awesome, simply awesome! I've added that to my wish list! Thanks for sharing :thumb2

Couple of quick questions if i may?

How much roughly did it cost to ship the bike over?

All those stunning on-bike shots, they were stills from the video camera? - If so how on earth did you have enough / storage memory?

Cheers!

I shipped the bike through James Cargo. At the time, sending it via FedEx was cheapest !! It was crated and shipped in 24 hours from LHR to Anchorage via Newark. Cost of that was £1,400 including insurance.

the return was via a NY company called "Ship My Bike" - they are agents for James Cargo in NY. That was £1,600 via Lufthansa.

The stills pictures were taken via a couple of GoPro hero cameras mounted either on the bike or on my helmet...

I carry a 500GB hard drive for storage...

You can ro/ro to the East and West Coast and it's considerably cheaper but you can be away from your bike for up to 6 weeks to the West Coast and 3 weeks to the East Coast.

The only way to get your bike to Anchorage is air freight and Srace7 had a great price there:thumb

Like others on here I have myself have just trawled through your thread and have been mega impressed on how easy it was to follow your constructive blogs, along with your superb photographs :thumb

Naturally I cannot talk for others members on this site, but for myself you have lived and ridden the dream that I have been pondering over for a bit of time. Needless to say that my road is now straight, and I cannot thank you enough mate for the head's up direction with your report....
