ARDcase

Roger, superb cases!

I bought a set from you back in August last year (post #77) & although I went out for a brief ride with them fitted I only used them to full effect this month.
I usually tour with a top box but decided not to take one this year & I still had room left in the cases.
Your top loading cases are infinitely better than my old side loading varios. Loading & unloading was as easy as pulling a bag out. (large Asda bag one side & smaller Asda bag in the other case)

7 nights, 1200 miles, mated to Holan rails - couldn't fault them. (even filtering on the M6 carpark wasn't a problem )

Thanks. :thumb2

Hi - are the ArdCases any wider than the expanded Varios? My measurements suggest that the Varios are just slightly less than edge of handguard to edge of handguard measurement.

Thanks

Nigel

Nigel, I would suggest it's not the ARD cases that dictate the width but which frames you use. I think the Touratech frames are narrower but cost a fair bit more. I'm very happy with my ARD/Holan set-up & filtering up & down the M6 wasn't a problem.

Check out post #94 for a head on photo of my set-up.

Yesterday had a set of ARD case panniers with Holan frames fitted to my 1150 by Roger. Am very impressed by the cases - excellent workmanship and thanks to Roger for taking the time to fit them for me at his house. Would recommend these to anybody and Roger is a great bloke to deal with.

I chose a 7" and a 9" case with makes the them about 1/2 narrower than the handlebars each side which should be OK for filtering.

Just need to sort out my summer camping tour now to try them out!

Is that Triumph yes it is a 47 speedtwin really towing a Lambretta trailer No! it is towing a Pav40 trailor, built in czechoslovakia for use behind Cezeta scooters and Jawa motorcycles, but adopted by many riders across europe for camping at rallies.

Here you can see mine, although my one is a Pav41, and can be seen behind my 56 BSA M33

Seen this? I knew I'd seen them on Scooters :D This guy's got new ones. Could be worth noting.

Fresh on today!

After several coats of lookin and a few cups of tea I found these panniers really easy to fit. The adhesive tape on the pucks is a great idea and speeds up the process once mounting angles and height have been debated ad nauseum.

The colour match is better than the pics suggest, flash seems to emphasise different paint finish.

All they need now is some miles on them!

Squooze me, but is there/has there been a top box made?

Redcap has just informed me that one I ordered will be ready Tuesday.

It's much larger than any normal person would require, but of course he can tailor one to your spec. I'm not normal.:D

I've not seen it yet. I'm sure he'd post a pic for you.

hey Redcap
what are the dimensions of the blue and orange boxes on Chubbythumper's
