For me it’s not the money or the quality or the re- sale values igs the FACT that the Chinese are using their vast industrial base as a weapon of war ,,, they are quite deliberately doing this to de- industrialise as much of the West as possible .

One of the last jobs I did before I retired was a fixed price quote for a big aluminium Catamaran Workboat .
We , had been doing this stuff for many years and were very Competitive U.K. and Eu ,,,
But the Chinese Undercut us by more than 50% - so we were nowhere in the running for that contract .

My worry with buying Chinese would be the turnover of manufacturers, what is Voges or Zontes or Benelli going to be 5 years down the line. I can still buy bits for my 40 year old Suzuki, 25 year old BMW etc but what about availability of parts for Chinese bikes.
Brother in law briefly had a CF MOTO 650 , 2 years old and it took weeks to get a pair of screen brackets on a current model.
Not saying it will always be that way but I cannot see them supporting their products in the future, bit like owning a CCM
