Just removed the rear drive housing from my 2008 GSA and items 16 and 21are no where to been seen:eek

I assume because they are listed they should be there, could the fact that there were not there be the reason my final drive needs a rebuild:nenau

16 is listed as a gasket ring
21 is listed as an O-ring

If they didn't need them they wouldn' t be there, or am I being cynical?

From the picture it wouls appear that part nos 16 and 21 are components of the pivot section on the rear hub.

I doubt if the lack of these parts would be the cause of an internal fault within the hub and as such can't really see why you would need a full hub rebuild if they weren't there.

However, I would fit parts 16 and 21 if I was putting the hub together.

If the US microfich I look at is true for the UK the two components only cost $2.50. They are probably only important to maintain a usefull life span from the needle roller bearings at the pivots. They are sealed for life? or without 16 and 21 open to the elements, life expectancy is in months.

Details, details...

Well heck! If they put EVERY little piece and part on these bikes when they build them, it would take FOREVER! It's much more important to get them to the anxious buyers ASAP than to sweat the small stuff like that! :rob :D
