Are they any good, 640 Adventure

Had my 640adv for nearly one year, build quality far superior to bmw.2 times in pyrenees hard core offroading, only one prop loose earth lead to subframe.good bike on road, suspenshion off road great.Just back from adv euro do in sort, great times had. it does more than it says on the tin, awsome machine.

Also begs the question why they stopped making the 640 a good year before the replacement - not a good strategy if they are selling so well. :nenau

I would guess it has a lot to do with 2008 EU emissions regs ... the 640 Adv is a carbed bike. In an ideal world they would have had the fuel injected 690 replacement ready by now, but reckon most of last years R&D budget went to the RC8 road bike.

+ 1 more for the 640.

Just bought one and I'm absolutely loving it - it'll never be the all-rounder that the GS is, but it has a massive personality and makes me grin in a way the Beemer can't.

Price guide - late '05, FKTMSH, 20k miles, fairing bars, rack and Hepco Gobi panniers (unused), Scottoiler, brand new tyres, chain sprockets, lowering link, heated grips, lowered seat, Akro pipe, airbox and jet mod etc, £3600. Incredible build quality, looks more like a 2,000 mile bike.

Loving it.:D
