Never mind - just rip all the bits off a 1200, flush $5000 down the pan, and ride it - just as good.

I can honestly say that I have never been in the knocking other people's rides brigade, but oddly enough, I quite like reading that stuff

Oh well that's just typical coming from a HP rider with a penile insecurity complex coz he hasn't got a 1150 stud rocket with highered suspension.

I'm not surprised that Florida dealerships can't sell them, because we don't have much in the way of good offroad riding (unless you like aligator infested swamps), but I was surprised to hear from the local shop that according to the nationwide BMW dealer network, they're just not selling - even in areas ideally suited to the HP2.

No sense of humour failure here! :P

Actually I’m quite happy with the size of my equipment….and so is my wife. :)

Why do you need to ask or mention it? Are you harbouring a secret desire that you may wish to share with the rest of us?

Are you feeling so inadequate yourself, or so small minded perhaps, that you need to use the word BIG somewhere in your pseudonym?

I think your dealer may need to see if their connection to the dealer network
hasn't maybe come loose. I can name a dozen dealers in the west that have
sold 5 or more HP2's each, hell Irv Seavers BMW has paid to ship bikes from
dealers as far away as Alaska to meet demand. Why would they do that if
there was some big warehouse full of unsold HPs. It's seems there are a
number of people who railed on about how overpriced these bikes were and
now are desperate to believe they are all sitting unsold so they can tell
someone "I told you so". You're not one of those people are you....:soapbox:

I replied too quickly. Make that a dozen dealers that have
been allocated at least 5 bikes, some have only sold 4....

....given this new information I would like to change my
position, BMW and the HP2 are indeed doomed. :D

I said before that New Zealand had 7 HP's and one only had been sold well I was wrong none have been sold. The price is way over the top. You would have thought a couple would have been sold to those that must have. This does not look good for the resale price of the HP.

BMW of Orlando didn't say there was a warehouse full of unsold HPs. What they said was that many dealerships can't sell the one's they have on the showroom floor. You might mention to Earl Seavers that there are plenty of HP2's gathering dust here in Florida, in case they're still looking for some. I won't even charge him a finder's fee. :thumb

I don't know of anyone "desperate to believe HP2's aren't selling", but they needed evidence of that, they could point to any of the numerous dealerships who are now cutting prices to get rid of the one's they've got: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120700

I guess I've just completely missed the point of your post. The bike has been
available for 5 months of the slowest part of the year for motorcycle sales
and yet a third of the first allotment of bikes is sold. You start by saying
"US dealerships are having a very difficult time unloading the new ones"
when there is ample evidence that is not the case....

Quite a few dealer are offering a discount on their 1200GSs and a few other bikes.
Does that mean "US dealerships are having a very difficult time unloading the 1200GS"....

The 1200gs is selling well. There are more orders than bikes available.

Yes, it seems you have. The point of my post was whether HP2's are selling well in the UK, just as the title of this thread states. While others have endeavored to answer that question, you seem intent on telling us whether they're selling well in Arizona.

I apologize. I shouldn't have assumed you had agenda concerning this bike.

Nah, all you need is patience. Eventually all the posers who bought one will realize its impracticality and dump it on the used market for thousands below MSRP.

How silly to think this was another of your many trolls. Thank you for
promoting unbiased discourse concerning this bike. I breathlessly await
your next valuable contribution... :mmmm
