Not so much a ride report, more of a thank you to the fine Southern Gents who invited me to Scotland on their holiday.
David A. Hall (I love my 1150 but the 1200 is superior in every department) invited me to join Robmac, PeeJay, Gerry and Stuart on their foray north from Gloucestershire. I met them at the Gretna services on the M74.
A couple of days later we were at the Applecross campsite where I noticed I had a flat rear tyre on my Africa Twin (lighter than my GSA to help with recent knee surgery).
Dave then rode to Forres to collect an inner tube from another top chap, Steve T (UKGSer and XRV750.org), stayed the night there and rode back to Applecross for 8 0'clock the next morning. He then proceeded to change the tube for me and only then would he have the cup of tea I made him.
A big public thank-you to Dave and the rest of the party for having me along and looking after me so well - just a shame my knee couldn't hold up 'till the end.
