Anyone know of Arrowhead Inc starters for GS 1150 , better still anyone running with one ?
They can be had for 100 gold nuggets plus delivery including VATband come with 12 month warranty from Moto Electrical in the UK.
Just pondering if to order one, I'd like a Denso but they're daft money.

No idea...but I need a new starter (when engine hot often spins starter but not engine - same sound as when you press starter when engine running...suspect come clutch type thing problem, but need to have new motor to fit before i remove the old one (however that is done) so that I can still use it)).

So two of us await knowledge of starters!

Never heard of Arrowhead, but I've been using one of these for a year or so and it's fine:

If you search "alternative starters", on here there's talk of some on German eBay for £37 or something, but I never found those.

At least with Woods, you have a UK company and guarantee.

Good luck :thumby:

Fit the Anlasser 6mths ago now - no problem whatsover!

Well the arrowhead seems to have hit the mark.

All up and running now......:D

how hard is it to remove/fit a startermotor?....my problem is lack of workspace, so I will have to do it at the roadside (no drive, garage too full).
any useful tips appreciated.

It's easy mate. I did it on the drive today in 20 minutes.
Remove seat, remove right side plastic cover under tank, remove tank anchor bolt ( same side) wedge tank up at the rear so you can disconnect the negative battery lead.
Remove plastic starter motor cover, disconnect spade connector, remove 14mm nut to starter cable.
Remove two torx bolts one visible the other you need to look under and up the other side of the starter, take off zip tie if its on holding the power cables.
Slide back starter and remove and launch over next doors fence.
Refit new starter, stick some Vaseline on nuts etc.
Just reverse process and its on.
Wash hands , have a brew and go for a ride. :D

thanks for the info. So this weekend is check stick coils then order starter and replacement coil(s) ready to fit the weekend after.
cheers...it will be good to have a bike that starts from hot after I have filled with fuel.
