As yet undecided

I am sure this is going to spark of the same debate, but I have just sold my 1200GS and gone back to the ADV. I can not put it down to any one problem with the 1200GS but it goes to personal taste. Both are great bikes, but totally different. The 1200GS feels like a different model range to the 1100GS, 1150GS or 1150 ADV which all felt like updates to a current range.

An expensive mistake but I am really happy to be back on the ADV. As soon as I rode the ADV of the showroom floor I knew that I had done the correct thing.

I took a test ride on 1150gs a year and half took it for about 3 hrs , was hooked then and 12000 miles later still am.
Had no problems at all ,just put on y piece and remus made it even more fun.
Have had 955i & tiger & thunderbird & daytona& trident but 1150gs most most smiles per mile
get one brought, you know it makes sense

expensive but you got what you wanted, and that's what counts. I did the same last summer when I bought the ZX10R thinking it would replace my crashed RC51 and bring back the fun I had with my '86 1000R Ninja. Far from it. Too much for the road and so it went to the track and from there it was a waste, for me. Got a good deal and didn't burn for it too much but still took a hit. Was it worth it? I'm now on the right bike, for me

Decided !!

Well I've done it :D

Placed the order and should be available in about 2 weeks, which is much quicker than I had anticipated.

1200GS, yellow/grey tank panel/black seat, ABS, H.Grips, Alarm & white lenses.

Guess I'll be hanging around here for a while then...

Sensible choice - apart from the ABS (dodgy servos), Alarm (flattens battery) and the fact that the Red ones are much faster ;-)

Interesting reading folks!. I had the 1100gs(98) and loved it but abandoned the big friendly giant due to reliability problems and a limited budget. Roadtested the 1200 for a day and went straight back and left a deposit!. delivery due late May or early June. Have owned many bikes but feel the 1200 suits highland roads, touring and everday use - I will keep all posted on progresss!

Just thought I would mention that I've placed my order with Wollaston Motors in Northampton. So far I've found them most helpful, friendly and attentive.

Here's hoping the after sales service is just as good !!

Roll on 4th June....
