ASC/RDC Problem ?!?

Two weeks ago I rode my new '08 GS for a first service (1000 km) to authorised BMW dealer here in Serbia. They did the necessary inspections, oil change etc and also offered me to install the BMW alarm system. I accepted and when I came back to pick up the bike I found out that RDC (ReifenDruckControl - TyrePressureControl) is not working (the display was showing a message about it). I asked the technicians there and they told me that the message will go off during the ride (after I exceed 30km/h). I went home and it did not go off and on top of that I found out that the display is reporting that ASC is switched off too (and I couldn't turn it on with the ABS button).
I went to the dealer again and after some discussions with BMW Germany they told me that the problem is in the bike's computer because when they installed BMW alarm they also loaded some software into the computer and that they need now to reset the tyre pressure readings in the computer and for that they need some special equipment they don't have. When I asked about ASC not working too, they said it will be resolved simultaneously.
Anybody experienced anything like that ? I feel they are just telling me stories...and now I have to wait for weeks till this piece of equipment is imported (they told me it's a kind of remote controller for RDC).

I can't comment on the RDC, but when I got my 08 GSA my dealer did an install of the alarm in-house which affected the ASC as you're seeing.

The bike basically required a software upgrade to get put back to rights, which needs/needed a CD sent from BMW containing various codes, configs, and security certificates for my bike to enable the install - once they'd got that it was a 2 hour job to get everything reflashed and straightened out.

Best 'o luck. :aidan

asc rdc

suprised an authorised dealer doesnt have the equipment to turn the rdc back on
they mustnt have the latest updates for the asc as this was affecting the first early 08 bikes when the alarm was dealer fitted. dont believe latest software affects the asc anymore.

my bike is an early '08 (bought in Feb), and unfortunately they really don't have neither the tool to repair the RDC nor the latest software  Maybe I should ask them to remove the alarm (or to disable it)? Maybe it would work until they get the new software? I plan to travel this weekend, and I don't like riding with instruments blinking for warning
