At last my first look !

Cracking looking bike but, if I’m honest, it was the packing crate that caught my eye. Presumably they re-use these crates? I’ve never seen a metal framed packing crate (but then, if I’m honest, I can’t say that I’ve seen that many new bike packing crates).

If they use the same system as Triumph the metal crates will be sent back to the factory and reused.

For bikes exported to certain markets, where it would not be financially viable to return the crate, they will use single use wooden ones

What was the reference of the tank lock rim plz. I’ll need to fix one to mine in the coming weeks

If you have a 1250 you need a Givi BF11 Tanklock ring. I used the OEM ring i got with my Tanklock bag, i believe its "universal" and fits most tanks. You only need the four screws and the metal "half moon" ring to lock the plastic ring down with. Hope that helps.

Funny enough, there are more transport pallets in production than bikes lol

One third in the manufacturing (bike) loop, One third at dealerships, and one third in transport.

They fold flat once the bike is removed, so about 5 of the transport pallets occupy the same space stacked as one bike in a pallett

Many manufacturers in the eighties used to send the bikes in bits on pallets, the deaership would assemble, PDi and then sell,

The first service wasnt just to change the oil, but to tighten up all the assembly stuff the dealership had done some six weeks or so prior.

Nowdays most bikes come ready to roll, less fuel.

While I’m at it, the bike was PDI’d elsewhere and not at the dealers. I saw the paperwork but cant remember the name of the people that did it.
