:D :D :D :beerjug:

How come you've got to pay to get in to Wales on both bridges? Surely most people would be willing to pay to get.....never mind.....

Mike:D

Mike O,

You get a better class of living in the Land of unpronouncable names and when you live here you rarely want to leave.

By the way, how's that bike of your's, you now the one that you had to pay 4.40 to cross the bridge to pick-up.

As a Bristol boy, I'm well aware of the attractions and otherwise of the land of the hillside welcomes :D

After the gearbox is refettled (not a brilliant job on the rebuild by Keith, regrettably - wrongly torqued casing led to oil leak & 1st gear slipping) it'll be going to its foster home in fine condition, thanks for asking :P

Mike:)

ps In a van it was more than £4.40.......

travel over the bridge every day in my van and it costs £9.30 as of the first of Jan:D

Fit 1 window and a bench seat in the back and it's a "crewbus" cross for car rates (£4.60)
Want to borrow a petrol disc cutter?:D

No replies from the "powers that be" to the original question then?

Not a brilliant job

Mike O,

The strange thing is that Keith builds gearboxes as a profession. Not road-going but aircraft.

I will chastise him accordingly.

When do you set off on your trip by the way?

Weird. Jim Cray was able to pull the output shaft seal flange off by hand and none of it had been torqued down sufficiently to align the gears correctly (which led to the trouble) - it also led to an oil leak. The low oil level led to the damage to the helical gears etc. All now well - re-con gearbox and (OE) clutch plate being re-fitted Monday - still more than happy with my bike, so don't bother chastising him for my sake :D

Mike

ps What aircraft are these gearboxes fitted to - might avoid them......:P
