Little shits tried to nick my gsa out of the office car park, someone thankfully alerted the security team and chased them off , the road lock held them up they tried twice to grind it off but it did enough to slow them down.

I need to look at additional options but cant make up where to go , I haver a oxford boss disc lock and a meter long abus gold chain and padlock I use with the road lock but wondering what I can do to add layers at work, there is l length of armco I can chain to but not sure if i just run a chain through the wheel or get a pin to go through the hub.

The other option is to add a couple of Hiplok or litekock u locks but not sure which will be the best to go with to give versatility when looking it up.

Shame the security didn't have the means to detain them pending the arrival of the constabulary.

Could take years…

By your description, it’s an attempted ‘push away’ theft. Had it been otherwise, they’d have just lifted the bike and lobbed it into a van.

Chaining a bike to something solid, should always top securing a bike to itself. A Roadlock simply does that, no different to a half decent disc lock or a chain through the wheel. It just looks more elegant, that’s all.

Layers of security, is the only way to go…… and the pound of butter in the fridge..

Car park was behind barriers, so yes push away attempt , There is a lengh of armco there but my chain is not long enough.

Just how far away is it?

Buy a longer chain or padlock two lengths of chain together, perhaps?

As wapping says layers are your friend, chain it to something with a top quality lock and chain, disc lock on the rear and the front if you can plus a cover so they can't see what you've used to protect your bike.

To be fair if the had hold of them they would have , the trust next door lads joind in a I suspect they would not be shy in getting stuck in

Pondering a pragmasis 19mm chain and pin , and a lite lock 3 , can leave the lock and chain at work need to suss out the length tomorrow , or buy a cheaper chain and lock and two lite lock 3

A group of pikeys tried to steal my KTM SuperDuke R a couple of years ago. It was chain linked to a mates bike in a hotel car park, and they cut through that no problem, snapped the steering lock and tried to push away.
Foiled by a combination of Road Lok and Monimoto.
They didn't notice the Road Lok and when they lifted the bike off of the side stand the Monimoto set off my phone, causing me & mate to rush out of the hotel bar and they ran away.
If I stay away from home now I use an alarmed disc lock on the front wheel, a Hiplock D lock on the rear with a chain through that as well, linked through something immovable if available, a Monimoto tracker and the whole lot concealed underneath a cover.
It pisses me off that we have to go through all that just to protect what's ours.

A nice big Almax chain, and then a Litelok X3 moto on the front wheel. The scroates normally don't have multiple grinder batteries nor cutting discs, which would be needed to cut through both.

Just a thought: If this is your 'permanent' place of your employment would the employer/property owner allow you to insert a ground anchor (would they perhaps meet part of the cost?).... It might be a positive surprise if the question is framed well?

Sorry for your frustration.

as mentioned park next to security office is there is space , or if the car park has a more hidden spot, out of view of the passing scrotes etc. One of the riders in our office chains to a metal fence, with a huge lock, he parks in the same place when he goes in, so leaves the chain locked to the fence in a " bin bag " .its the heaviest chain I have seen, so it stops him carrying it around all the time.
