Thought I'd share this -

Two fellas were caught in the act of trying to steal my '00 650 yesterday on Arbour Hill in Dublin 7 outside my office. One with a screwdriver and one with a hammer. Frightening thing though..they were chased off TWICE by the guy in the coffee shop next door! Persistent fellas. Apparently they fled in a blue nissan. They didn't get the bike but have destroyed the ignition barrel so I'm awaiting a new one to arrive.

BARSTARDS !
As you said it's the persistance of them that I find amazing, bold as brass !

I must admit to being very unchristian with regard to people like these.

Bring back flogging ???
Seriously !:nenau

I've worked up here for six weeks now and for the first time forgot to put on the disc lock, doh :blast

Anyway she went off on the back of a truck this morning to be fixed.

By the way Joe, sorry to see your lady on the back of a truck! Is she okay? Does she have a name, I never asked you before..

Hate to say it, but the chances are that they will be back again. :(

I read an XT forum now and again, and the bloke seemingly in charge had his XT supermoto stolen whilst having two big chains on it, inside a locked metal security shed, and behind a set of locked gates... what on earth do you have to do to keep your own stuff safe?

This is the only thing that works...
A reputation for violence

No bother to you Joe, you being a wee McCooey from Belfast n'all. :)

Not me mate..Id be more into love n laughter :kissy2
But it is a sad fact that these scumbags fear very few...

A few weeks ago two of these fella's broke into a station
yard in Dublin to try and recover a moto that was taken
off them or one of their friends by the cops...
(them fail after a cop spotted them...but got away)
Now if they have the neck to break into a cop shop
to get a moto...what would stop them :nenau

A good few years back, my eldest brother (R.I.P) did tell me about a time when he heard something odd in the back yard below the flat he was living in, so he climbed out onto the flat roof for a better view, to see a couple of youngsters trying to pinch one of the motorbikes from the yard, he saw them off with a bloody great sword :eek

On the plus side nobody ever tried it again... so perhaps his reputation spread?
