I am seeing more and more a reason to post this as BMW don't seem to be doing anything about it, it has come to light that the 04 onwards K1200 series ie S,R and GT can suffer massive trauma at the hands of the timing chain jumping a tooth, BMW released a jump guard but dont seem to be willing to recall the item, this is a massive deal, this can easily write off your bike, i have had 2 engines come in completely destroyed because of this happening, everyone has heard the horror stories about cars and timing chains, well, this is worse!!

This part can be bought and fitted by me for €100, and this can easily save the life of your K1200 engine, if you were brave, you could wait for BMW to do something in the form of a recall, they may or may not recall this, but its up to you, for €100, i know what alot of people will do

You can contact me on [email protected] for more info or to book your bike in

Cheers for reading, i hope you show this and share it with anyone you know in the bike game, or share it from my facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Platinum-Motorcycles/97388602741

Totally agree with Mark about this I've seen a few of these

Another horrendous example of BM not standing over it's product

I have since learned that BMW HAVE actually released a recall on this, BUT, expecting people to wake up one morning and realise their bike has it, so, this can be done for free by a dealer

well Done Mark for posting that up even tho it may cost you a few jobs

So folks Last 7 Digits on your chassis number Phone the dealer see if its already done or not AND Record the name of who you talk to and ask for a Letter of confirmation Just in case!

Hi guys, thanks for post..
Found it by a search, local BMW dealer called me just before Xmas (Astles Grimsby) advising me of cam guide rework, currently waiting for a workshop session & while I'm there a £99 service..
I'm actually impressed they bothered to call me.. Maybe a few new faces in the bike department have changed things for the better.
