I've connected my 2610 up to my autocom using the autocom supplied lead and the interference when the bikes running is horrendous. I can't hear any instructions at all. I've tried routing the lead down both sides of the tank to no avail.
My Ipod sits on the bars and is connected the the autocom via a stereo interconnect and doesn't suffer interference at all.
Is this common or have i got a bad lead, and are there any other lead options (better quality) out there?

Mine also did it, the red/black autocom part fixed it. It has some kind of interference suppression built in to prevent 'earth loop' problems when your autocom and GPS are both bike powered.

Ordered

Cheers Fellas

Just ordered one of the red and black boxes so hopefully that will sort it :thumb

Does your red black thingy significantly reduce the volume?
Or is it just my one?

(sorry for the hyjack)

Does yours reduce your volume only when you are plugged into both the GPS and a music player?

When experimenting, I found that paralleling a Ground Loop Isolator (the active bit inside the Red part of the red/black thingy) with my music player caused the GPS to be too quiet at full volume... but when run by itself (through the GLI) it was too loud at 40%...

I decided (due to a couple of other past posts about reduced volume) to run my GPS into my phone input through my GLI, and my stereo into the music port.. works a treat, lots of volume... I didn't want to spend 55 euros for something that wouldn't work... and no way to test it without buying it...

The volume on mine is fine. I think you need to ensure that the GPS is on port A (red)and the music/phone on port B (black) (or is it the other way around ???). Basically, what I'm trying to say is 'read the user manual' (or the .pdf file from Autocom), it might make a difference.
