Autocom 300 cable exit point

Hi
I have just finished fitting a new Autocom 300 with the BT add-on to my GSA.
All is good apart from I am not sure where the best place for the cable to come out from under the seat.
I have put it just to the left by my thigh but is the best place?
I wont always be using the system so should I worry about water and crap getting into the socket?

Any other adive for cabling in jacket etc?

I've had the cable exciting on the left side from under the seat on both my previous and current bikes with no issues with the socket so I'd say you will be fine.

I do use the little black stick on clips to retain the socket when not in use rather then just let it dangle though.
