Hi Chaps,
I've just got a 300 kit while they are half price, love it, its great. HOWEVER, my mobile (Nokia 6300) doesnt work with the lead. The phone picks it up as earphones rather than a handsfree kit so I can hear the phone beeping, ringing, and if i answer it manually (in the garage of course!) then i can hear the person on the other end, but they cant hear me talking.

I sent autocom an email and they said that they thought it was a problem with the software on the phone and suggested their bluetooth dongle. £75 is a bit steep though i reckon, so it got me thinking. Can anyone tell me why one of the following bluetooth dongles with a 3.5mm jack on the end wouldnt work??

Thanks for your help,

Maybe but....

You could use another dongle but it might not necessarily be charged by the Autocom. I had similar problem to you and for convenience and audio quality the autocom bluetooth dongle is actually worth it...just wish it was 15 quid cheaper and then I could have bought a Stebel horn too...

With the Autocom BT dongle the phone's "Auto answer" must be set to OFF. Could it be the same for the lead?

Menu>Tools>Settings>Enhancement>Headset (thats for the N73)

When its plugged in, the phone just sees the autocom as earphones, hence there is no auto answer option. That only comes up when you have a headset plugged in.

For twenty quid i might give it a go, i'm not bothered if it doesnt charge it up while its on really. I might get a stebel horn then too!! :aidan
