Hi

Looking for advice. I have an Autocom Active 7 Smart connected to my 05 R1200GS, two headsets, phone & walkie talkie. Currently I have it linked via a plug into the aux socket under the seat. I'm finding it works perfectly for about the first hour then cuts out, coming back in intermittantly as I ride.

I keep my bike linked to an Optimate when its not in use and never had any problem starting it up. Have noticed recently that when I fire it up the red battery light stays illuminated for a very short period after starting. (not sure if its always done that and I'm just getting paranoid!!)

My question - is the battery dying and as such the 'brains' of the bike cutting out the power to the aux socket? or is the Autocom goosed? or any other suggestions?

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Cheers

Tried powering the Autocom direct from the battery (fused of course ;) ) and seeing if you get the same result? At least then you'd know that the accessory socket software isn't an issue.

seem to recall a thread about this sometime ago where the aux socket on 1200s switches off after an hour or so.......could be worth a search??:)

Thanks Guys

I'll try the 'direct from battery' route this weekend. In the meantime I'm off to search the forums now I have a bit of time

Hi i have had this problem myself recently and found that if i start the bike without letting it go through the startup process on the computer it causes my autocom to have this problem. have you tried to start the autocom before the bike. hope this is a help

Classic BMW software problem where the socket closes itself down, get yourself booked into your nearest BMW garage for a software upgrade.
