Autocom Dongle Position?

Hi All,
Just trying to find out if any one has found the best place to mount the Autocom dongle unit ? I was all set to mount it under the rear seat but the instructions say its best nearer the front of the bike (R12GS Adv).
Any hints /tips / advice would be greatfully taken on board.

Mounted mine with cable ties to the beak subframe on the left side, can't be seen and pretty much level with the GPS mount.
