Autocom Half Price SALE

I doubt it as there is no PTT cable/switch in the schematics or list of contents PLUS it says this (see below) in the spec' so I am guessing voice activated:thumb

* Foolproof open channel performance guaranteed to 160mph.
* Side tone-duplex intercom-instantaneous voice activation for normal speech patterns
.
My advice would be to get the PPT lead (or make one) as it is a PITA listening to other peoples radio on perm TX. We had that through most of Germany until we politely advised our "friend" to switch his bleeding radio off.

:confused:Gsrich,

I have had a look at the system and on the front seems to be the old Autocom logo (of a riders helmet) and the phone number on the front of the unit is devoid of the first 1 in the phone area code (i.e 0935 instead of 01935 as numbers are now) so I guess this is quite a old unit! the only model marking is "Pro"

sorry I got the radio model number wrong! its a TK3201 with 0.5W output

Simon

Headsets.

When I bought by GS it had an Autocom (duo I think) fitted to it - its also interfaced with the Garmin SP3 that also came with the bike. But I don't have any headsets or anything! Have you got any headsets in the sale?

I hardly ever carry a passenger but it would be good to hear the gps and I also understand that I can interface a stereo and phone with it.

Hi Simon,

So you have got a Pro 3000 then which runs a unique microphone so the system can only be used via a specific Pro 3000 headset. There are are no ways of plugging a 7 pin headset into your system.

Kenwood wise you will need a Part 1457 £38 for the PTT and a Part 1431 £15 to run from the PTT into the Kenwood.

Sean As the headsets are not changing they are not in the sale, only our main systems as I have mentioned. For the GPS our parts 1285 and 1294 £29 will get you connected to the StreetPilot III.

Re. Autocom Sale....what should I do???

Hi everyone

I took delivery of my 08 GSA in May and for one reason and another haven't managed to sort getting it fitted with an Autocom yet but had hoped to very soon. My dilemma is should I or wait for the new model just about two months away or at the sale prices buy now? What will the advantages of the new models be over the current line-up? Help!

I'll be wanting to use it with my Zumo 550 and phone, rider to passenger and bike to bike / car via business pmr.

Does anyone know if the new models will feature in next month's Ride mag intercom reviews?

Cheers,
Terry

I would love to tell you more but unfortunately I have got my hands tied behind my back. System wise it is your choice and I am not allowed to say what our changes are due or I would lose my much loved job.

Hi,

The promotion or sale is a UK only sale and we do not send/ship to Australia due to us having Bluerim as our distributor there for us.

Any chance of an offer on the PTT buttons/leads. Part 1457 I think.

Any chance the new range will power a USA TK3101 rated at 2w? Be great to be able to power it from the autocom rather than wired to the bike separately

As the title and original post states really the offer is ONLY on the main Duo kits and DOES NOT apply to any of our spares.

TK3101 are you sure its 2w powered as standard they are only 0.5watts due to the UK law?

yes, I got a couple of USA spec ones that are 2w and allow you to attach an external antenna to give better range. I'd love to power it through the autocom but I've heard that the radio would draw too much power from the kit 300 and burn it out.

The radios are not legal over here but I used them while touring in the states.

Ahh ok 2w is pretty much the maximum the Super Pro's can offer for the power side of the set up, although we do get some customers in America running 4 watt set ups which are putting more stress on the circuit board. Luckily the boards are designed with a auto shut down if the transceivers run too much power to avoid any damage or systems blowing etc.

So a Part 102 £21 can be used along side a Super Pro to power and supply the audio from the Kenwood.

Cool - would that be part 1402 (can't find a part 102)?

I had a 1402 before and it didn't fit the TK3101, only the TK3201 I had before that.

Looking forward to hearing about the new functions on the new units - be at the bike show I presume?

Defo a Part 102 mate as these are for the older TK's and will not work on the later TK3201's.

Cheers

Brilliant. Will there be any of these in stock at the bike show or should I go direct?

Another question. I have the part for the Zumo, 1299 I think. Since I'm now using the bluetooth dongle for the phone functions, do I need to keep using part 1299 or can I swap it out for 1314 (for voice prompts)? Or are they the same part essentially?

Im sure we will be taking some Part 102's with us to the show although we do not sell a massive amuont of them now adays.

If you already have the Part 1299 the 2.5mm-3.5mm mic lead can be removed and the 3.5mm-3.5mm jack plug lead running from the Zumo cradle is left and will be used to carry the GPS audio and music if being used.
