Anyone got advice/pics on installing this?

Their documentation is not the best.

I only want to instal the boom as I have ultimate monitors to go in my ears.

pip pip chaps

I've got mine wedged in between the padding panels near the Ear coming out over the top of the Cheek pad then bending across to the front of my mouth if that makes sense...?

Yes it does, but my main prob seems to be fixing the other end of the boom and the down lead connector to the helmet. How did you do this?

No idea about the boom (I don't need it) but the lead, I took the neck pad out and then cut a circular slice out of the plastic bit that runs around the base of the helmet.

The cut out is on the side and is the same size as the lead. Then to prevent it pulling in either direction I put a small cable-tie either side of the cable before re-fitting the neck pad.

I've wedged in my boom mic between the padding below the ear however the */&^%$# keeps coming out every time I pull the fastening straps apart as I pull the helmet over my head, it parts the padding and allows the boom mic to losen.

It's driving me mad, I'm thinking about ditching my BM flip-front helmet and getting another type of helmet.

Good luck if you find out a way to fix the boom in so that it stays let me know.

Took mine to Pidcock BMW where I bought the helmet from and they fitted it for free.

:)

Autocom and system 4

I pushed the boom mike between the lower cheek pad and the upper part of the padding, but before I did this I rapped the 'lead' end of the boom mike with the 'hairy' side of self adhesive velcro. This makes it stick quite solid to the foam padding. I then put a one inch piece of sticky velcro to the upper surface of the cheek pad where the boom mike will rest and rapped the other surface (smooth) around the boom. This allows the boom to rest where you want it to be and not move every time you accidentaly hit it with your hand when taking the helmet off and on.

Hope this helps, sorry no phot available at present, I'm in work.

Thanks very much to all who replied.

I bought the helmet from Vines so I'll prob take it there next week and tell them that Pidcocks fit em for free and will they?

Somthing to remember when you go, the guy at Pidcocks did mine in less than 10 minutes. It's not a big job when you know what your doing it seems. :)

mike instalation

Why not just fit the Autcom mike set designed or open faced helmets?

Mike installed in chin piece - note red plug on right
