Hi

I had an Autocom system fitted at the weekend, which is brilliant, although it does mean that I can hear my wife singing on the back... Autocom fitted out the bike and two lids in about forty minutes and didn't bugger anything up at all. Incredible!

My question is, has anyone found a good way of stopping water / crud getting into the female seven pin connectors when they are left dangling on the bike? Autocom don't seem to do any kind of cap to cover the female connector and I was wondering what others did to remedy this situation? Of course, it rarely rains in south Wales (ha!), but I do like to be prepared for when the big bright thing in the sky finally goes behind a cloud...

Thanks

I store my lead out of the way under the saddle when it's not being used. Takes seconds

Autocom offer a clip for the connectors. Mount one sideways or, better still, downwards on your tank.

The thing to use is a rubber cap designed to go on the bottom of chair legs. Try your local haberdashery. I bought a couple last week for 40 p each and they fit perfectly.

I asked Doug at Autocom about this & he advised me not to fit a plug as it keeps the damp in which will lead to corrosion.

Thanks all. I hadn't thought I might be actually sealing dampness in. I shall just let mine dangle in the breeze or tuck them under the seat.
