So I have an older Active 7 unit and on my new bike I'm getting some interference. I have borrowed one of those red/black isolation boxes from a friend who doesn't need it at the moment, but not sure which jack to.

The box as 2 input jacks (labled A and B) and then the wire that will goto the Autocom ("C").

What's the difference between the A and B as he seemed to remember they were different but not how.

I can't test it out today and the Mrs has borrowed the Zumo, but want it all set up ready for when she gets back!

cheers

Hi There,

You have the twin input isolation box, just allows to inputs into the box so you can have two bike powered items say a phone and a MP3 connected to your Autocom unit!

Just for info, is the Autocom and Zumo powered from the same point. I had read somewhere that if the power takeoff is from different places then you would get interference.

On my VFR, I had the zumo powered from the battery, and the Autocom from the rear light power supply, and there was alot of interference. I then took the Zumo power from the rear light supply (same position as Autocom) and the interference disappeared.

On the GS, both are from the aux socket and no interference.

Thanks foir the tip guys. Both Autocom and Zumo are powered from the same supply. My mate thought perhaps the A or B would be louder (or one a bit muted) - guess not! It's a black/red box if that makes any difference.

cheers

Hi Markie,

I think you have what in the good old days was called a part #57.

You should plug the Satnav into socket A (red = isolated). The black part (B) is not isolated.

John

Thanks John - I'll give "A" a go and see if it sorts it .
