Autocom - less than impressed

Rich,

I got the information about the new systems at InterMot, but one thing it does not mention is that if it is possible to use the new cables with the "old" systems.

I here think about the iPhone cable....

Thanks.

Hi Rich,

I don't have one yet, but looking at a possible xmas present for myself. It would either be the Kit300, or a Kit200 depending on price and availability.

Hi Casper

As in which old system just to be safe as the connections vary between them?

Rich

Hi Casper,

Your iPhone will be fine, as we speak we are looking at making our own stocked lead to fit the latest iPhones as they do not have a recessed jack plug compared with the earlier versions. These leads can be used on the 08 and 09 systems as the internal connections will not be any different both running on 4 pole connections.

System wise he have still got stock of the Kit 200's and 300's, are you looking at the Duo or Solo rider kits?

What actually powers the 'self-powered' units and how long will it power the unit for?????

Big Nick, could you a bit clearer on this one are you meaning our systems or our BT dongles? Just so I can supply you the correct answer.

Cheers

The wireless intercom (Logic Independence?) appears as if its not bike powered, I just wondered what battery you use and how long it lasts??

"A set of three standard AA Alkaline batteries (2500mAH) should last between 10 and 50 hours.

For normal speech (rider-passenger, bike to bike, GPS, phone etc) and at typical speeds of 80mph, without earplugs, the systems draws about 90mAH so about 27 hours life. Slightly longer battery life when used with monitor type earplugs as these draw less current than the new 8 Ohm speakers.

With high attenuation earplugs and at higher speeds say over 150mph, and with loud music the system could consume as much as 300mAH and so flatten the batteries in about 8 hours."
