!!!!!!!!!!!attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi All

A simple question - I hope! I would like to take a live feed from the 800gs auxillary socket for the AutoCom. There are two wires: a brown and a green/red. The simple question: which one is the live?

Many thanks for any advice.

I can see why I had no replies:blast I just shoved the live wire from the Autocom in the end of the auxillary socket to find which was the live:thumb2. I now have a fitted autocom. For someone like me who had never even soldered before I got advice from this site this is a big deal. So :clap:clap:clap to me and a glass of wine.

Well done:thumb I did have a quick search on your behalf as I fitted Autocom in the same way a couple of weeks ago, and I did find a thread on which was the live.... but as I couldn't find it I was leaving it to someone who knew :augie

Do you know how to open it?:augie

It was a challange butit turned out to be a screw top:beer:

Oh by the way and for anyone else interested - the live is the red/green one on the auxillary socket - or it was on mine. Never did find out what the other wire does:roll

Final thought and a comment on the value oif this site. I had been quoted £55 to fit the Zumo 660 and £85 for fitting the AutoCom from one of the BuMW dealers - 1.75 hours work! Admittedly I am a bit slow but 3 hours later and 5 solders job done. I would not even have attempted it without advice from here - so £135 saved 3 cheers to all the tossers:beerjug::beerjug::beerjug:
