Autocom Microphones

I am still using the Autocom Intercom systems on two of my bikes - many others will have now moved on to the new-fangled bluetooth stuff - but my wife and I still prefer the wired Autocom system for our travels.
Over the years I have collected a fair amount of spare parts for these systems - which is great - but I could do with a few spare microphones - as that's one part that seems to fail from time to time.
So, if any ex-Autocom users on here have any spare microphones lying around that they no longer need please get in touch with price etc.

Yep, those Autocoms were the bees knees. The only faff was having to open the adjustable squelch with a cough or other intervention. I found one way round that by making a small hole in the controller box an interrupting the adjacent mic circuit with a cable that went direct to a cheap PTT under my left thumb. Just a pressing that button was enough to open/close the circuit

Hi Kritou,
Never really had any problem with the VOX side of the mike's. Just carefully adjust the VOX pot on the unit until the mike quickly activates when you speak but does not activate with any wind noise etc
Just hoping there are a few spare mike's or complete headset lying around in tosser's houses that they no longer need.

I had a huge box of Autocom stuff I shifted to some Tosser after my last garage clearout, great bits of kit, had a couple of Radio's for bike-to-bike which really needed a PTT button to work well, on a dead straight line-of-sight road the modern BT kit matches the radio, but the Radio setup will penetrate things like trucks / trees / buildings 100 times better, so you don't lose contact if you turn in town a bit before your bikermate...

...However, going a bit off topic, I eventually moved to BT units, started with Interphone Tours - just flogged one on here, and got the other on my spare lid, working fine almost a decade on and still goes for hours on end with Music playing flat out. Viable option for a cheap and easy modern solution (Under £200 for twin pack)

Now some really nice Mesh solutions out there at sensible money, the Sena Spider stuff now under £300 for a twin pack, and a good choice for anyone who wants to join in with their Posh Sena mates mesh chats.

Regardless of how good an Autocom was, the cable is a PITA, the ability for your Mrs to tel you to grab her an XXX when you go to pay for petrol makes it worthwhile after the 5th or 6th time compared to getting back to the bike, climbing on plugging in only to get "did you not hear me shouting for a Mars bar"....

...The modern "HD / HK" speakers are better than the Autocom ones - they no longer hold top spot for sound quality, and the biggest "fear" for me was battery life, but every wireless unit I have owned will easily do a full days touring with music at full volume, often two days if I forget to charge them, and a 20 minute top-up charge buys you another 4+ hours.

Mrs has the Interphone UCOM-16 which was (at time of purchase) significantly cheaper than my Sena 50R, and is the same system effectively and 100% Sena mesch compatible, has a neat battery setup that fits neatly to back of helmet leaving a very narrow profile headset, although the sena HK speakers are a tiny bit better for music than the UCOM. There is also a larger battery option for the UCOM, but it is not hard to just charge your lid once a day on tour, or once a week / month at home.

Cannot comment on Cardo, think they are bought by the same types that have an Apple Laptop / phone just to feel superior having spent a load more money, then complain that it is not compatible with their mates stuff.
