I wanted to panel mount the DIN socket for my Autocom 200, but Autocom do not recommend this. :(

What other options are there to stop having cables dangling around?

I want to have the connections tidy and convenient - having exposed cables and connectors 'clipped' to the bike does not meet any of these needs.

I was hoping to find a 7 pin DIN and a 3.5mm jack socket with a cap similar to the power socker on the F800GS, but have not had any luck...

I have no access to ebay at work - I.T police

Can you tell me if this is a complete socket and how much please.

Thanks

That should do

There is also a second type of connector which is L shaped - i.e. the cable comes out of the base at 90 deg. I used this for the pillion socket at the back.

A link to SD Moto's E-Bay shop

- though i see the 7pin DIN 'L' connector is no longer listed (Old Link)

Cost ~26 pounds + shipping from Germany

If you don't have EB access, their contact info is:

That is great thank you again.
Can you tell me where you position the pillon's plug please.

Sorry should be asking for 1200GS

Not sure i can help with the 1200GS. I've put a hole into the black plastic panel, behind the yellow section with the fuel filler cap of my F800, just below the gab rail. I went to the left side of the bike as it was the opposite side to the way pillions mount. Both come with ~50cm of flex, so can be placed anywhere convenient for the pillion to connect to.

Sorry i can't be more help

Steve

Thanks Steve.
Won't be a problem you know how it is. I might think it is a good place only to find there is the right place.
