Hi

I have a couple of Autocoms (Duo 300 and pro-7-sport) and recently got a pair of puxings, but I can't get them working together.

The Autocoms both work fine rider to pillion.

The Puxings work fine on their own, both when using the PTT transmit button on the side, and with their own internal vox. They even work with one of those earpiece leads and inline microphones which plugs into the twin sockets so I can look like a bouncer.

However, I plug a puxing into the grey DIN on the autocom and no joy.

When puxing vox is set to off, it seems to do nothing. When puxing vox set to a number, e.g. 5, the puxing starts broadcasting immediately and permenantly when the kenwood lead is pugged in i.e. the broadcasting LED is on and the other puxing picks up a constant hiss noise, but there is no transmission of voice.

Any ideas??? What should the Puxing vox setting be (off or on?). Do I need to do something to the Autocoms, or should it be plug-and-play.

One possible source of problem is the kenwood lead. It is new and from an official Autocom dealer, but was out of its packet. The guy was not 100% it was a Kenwood lead, but I took it on a punt. It fits mechanically so I assume it's right - surely the other brands wouldn't be the same mechanical fitting but different wiring? Of course there is also the chance the lead is faulty, but I cannot be sure unless someone can tell me how it should all work....

cheers for any help
Darren

The Kenwood lead works with my 777
VOX should not be enabled on the radio's

Do you have something plugged into Aux3? I found this caused a permenant transmit.

Hi

Just to follow up - cable at fault and replacement works fine. Shop took it back and ordered new one from Autocom. Not sure if it was wrong cable or broken right cable.

cheers

Pin spacing effectively stops you using the wrong cable, kenwood twin pin is 12mm between pins, Icom is 10mm.

So I would say if it plugs in its almost certainly a kenwwod type lead.

Glad you got it sorted
