Like many, having read of the endless possibilities for the Autocom system, I found myself foxed by exactly how to install it..!

The brochures and these forums spoke of the ability to use phone, satnav and mp3 with ease... I knew what i wanted it to do, but didn't know how...

I reverted to asking my BMW dealer for assistance, but their installation only did part of what i wanted it to. So on Friday I phoned Autocom with a request for help...

They offered me a slot next working day. Rich listened to what i wanted the system to do. Advised which extra parts i needed to accomplish this and set about rectifying the install that the BMW dealer had done.

Within an hour he had resited the control box to a far better and waterproof site, had rigged up all the electrical toys i needed to talk to one another and had even re rigged my helmet and my wife's to a far better level of comfort...

All this at no cost to me other than the few extra parts i needed...

So to all those out there that, like me, are technically inept - save yourselves hassle and wasted time reading all these numerous threads...

Call Rich at Autocom, have a nice ride and come away with you Autocom finally "doing what it says on the tin"...:thumb2

Where'd he end up putting it then?:eek

I've got to do mine soon and I've also got the added volume of a B2B radio, Bluetooth dongle and I-pod......??

Cheers!

I refitted the system so it was ran where I always fit them in the plastic tool tray under the riders seat. Bike to bike wise there will be no room under the seat for any transceivers so I always fit the bikes so the transceivers are kept on person or into a tank bag etc.

BT wise all depending on what is being used the dongle can be kept under the riders seat with the comms unit or if a GPS is being used we fit them under the plastics by the headstock as close to the GPS as possible to allow for a better signal strength
