Hi Guys just tried to connect all my bits to my autocom, the zumo works fine I can hear music through my headset, my phone connects to my zumo i can hear people and ring people but they cant hear me!!! I have spoken to autocom and they sold me a lead 1314 and told me to put it in aux 3. Anyone know what I am doing wrong / missing. There is a music out connector on the zumo which is where the 1314 is but above that is a microphone out connector???
cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I dont think we would of told you to run the Zumo into the AUX3 socket when the Part 1314 runs better via the AUX2 socket. What connections are you actually using for the phone btw as the Part 1314 only runs the GPS and music side of the Zumo. Nothing to do with any phone connections.

Hi Rich,
I am running the phone via the blue tooth dongle, so what I have now is the N95 connected to the zumo and the zumo bluetoothed to the autocom for phone only. the bt dongle is in aux 1 and the 1314 is in aux 3. this all seems to work after a fashion BUT I can only just hear the people on the phone although they can hear me, is there a way to turn up the volume on aux 1? I can only just hear the voice prompts? also I get a whining noise the more I accelerate the louder it gets, any ideas on this one? Thanks Rich for all your help, ps should I stick the zumo via 1314 into aux 2 then?? whats the difference?
cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy,

The bt dongle should be more thna loud enough via your aux 1 socket, so the Zumo could be loosing the volume. A quick test for this would be try the phone direct with your dongle to see the differences in the volume, my money would be the phone would be a lot louder. If louder you know know there is a problem with the Zumo itself....which can happen.

The AUX2 socket will make the music and GPS slightly louder due to how the sockets are designed internally.

Whiney wise I would say either lead routing along the bike or the location of the isolation block on the Part 1314

Yeah it is problem with the N95's as we have been told that the differebt service providers like o2 ir Virgin run different versions of bluetooth software for some reason :blast:nenau

For the Part 1314 you want the isolation block at the comms end :)
