I'm having problems with my heated jacket, yes I know, it's supposed to be spring, but it's still cold up here in the Highlands :(

I can plug my vest into my car ciggy 12v socket and it works fine, but it doesn't on the bike, on either the front fairing one or the rear, any ideas ? I've only had the bike 3 weeks. Are they switched or something ?

The plug is the dual type (standard ciggy plug with red end that converts to DIN plug) could be the plug I suppose but I'm not sure. Where are thge fuses located on the bike ?

TIA Andrew

There are no fuses it is the canbus system that halts flow to the socket when it senses output requirement is too much. It is common with heated clothing - you will just about get away with heated gloves from the BMW socket any more will cut the power to the socket. Turn engine off a wait a few minutes then back on and power to socket should be resumed.
You need to go direct to battery or other option is to created a live socket by going direct to battery with the source power.

Regards
Rik.

Canbus detects excessive current use and shuts down the circuit to prevent damage
An easy solution is to Hardwire a std din plug to the battery

I have about 10 pairs of these available

Now £6.00 for one pair and £10 for 2 pairs delivered UK & Ireland

You just attach a fuse inline with teh positive to the battery and you can have 15 amps to your jacket :aidan That should keep ya warm

Thanks that'll save me time trying to check for blown fuses etc, not used to this can bus stuff.
DrFarkoff, I already have a fused hard wire line from my old bike, thanks for the offer though.
